EC staff call off intended strike

The intended strike by staff of the Electoral Commission of Ghana over unpaid allowances has been put on hold, www.tv3network.com gathers.

This was after a meeting held over the week.

Staff of the Commission had planned a nationwide strike on February 22 over their conditions of service.

They had wanted to begin with hoisting red flags at the premises of the Commission from Monday, February 8 “as a sign of our dissatisfaction and aversion of the state of affairs”.

But as a result of the meeting, the aggrieved staff are holding on to their resolve until the end of this month.
