EC sets Dec. 15 for Amenfi West by-election

The Amenfi West by-election will be held on December 15, 2015, according to the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

The polls became necessary following the death of the Member of Parliament for the area, John Gyetuah. The MP died at age 56 at the 37 Military Hospital following a short ailment.

The EC said nominations for the by-election will be taken on Wednesday, November 18 and 19, 2015 at its Asankragwa office from 8:00am to 12:00noon and 2:00pm to 5:00pm each day.

Filing fee has been pegged at GH?1,000.00.

Voting starts at 7:00am to 5:00pm, the statement signed by the EC’s deputy chairman in charge of operations, Amadu Sulley, said.
