EC sensitizes media personnel on election process

Mr. Ali Dauda, Deputy Upper West Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), has appealed to the media to report on electoral issues responsibly, to promote free, fair and violent-free polls in December.

He asked polling agents to act as watchdogs of the polls to enhance credibility of the process.

Mr Dauda made the call at a two-day capacity building workshop, organised by the Commission to brief media personnel in the region on the electoral processes, on the theme: “increasing knowledge of civil society and community-based organizations in Ghana’s electoral process”, in Wa.

He reminded Ghanaians that results of the presidential election are officially declared through a Constitutional Instrument, signed and declared by the Chairman of the EC, and results of parliamentary election are declared officially by Gazette notification.
