EC risks losing integrity after internal wrangling – John Boadu

The Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, says the ongoing internal wrangling at the Electoral Commission (EC) will negatively affect the integrity of the Commission.

Some concerned staff of EC last week presented a petition to the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo -Addo, asking him to impeach EC boss Madam Charlotte Osei over allegations of corruption.

Madam Charlotte Osei in a response to the corruption allegations against her, accused one of her deputies of illegally approving contracts worth over GHC40 million without her knowledge.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, John Boadu stated that the internal wrangling will make electorate lose the little confidence they have in the EC.

He added that the attitude of commissioners was so appalling and the NPP was chastised for trying to put them in check.

He described the revelations at the EC as shameful, disgraceful and scandalous.
