EC dismisses disputed Commissioners claim

The Special Budget’s Committee of Parliament has revealed a division among commissioners at the Electoral Commission.

According to the Committee which is chaired by the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the fabric of cordiality is apparently hugely tattered at the very top of the Electoral Commission (EC).

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, the Majority Leader said the seeming division could have negative implications on future elections if it is not resolved.

The Commission has however dismissed the claims.

This claim of division at the EC comes at a time when the Chairperson, Mrs Charlotte Osei has been nominated for the 2017 Chatham House prize, a prestigious award from the UK.

Mr. Dzakpasu said the Commission is delighted at the nomination.
