EC Denies RPD Candidate’s Claim

The Electoral Commission (EC) says an allegation by Mr. Kwabena Adjei, presidential candidate of the Reformed Patriotic Democrat, (RPD) that he scored zero at the polling station he voted during last Sunday’s election, is not wholly true.

“The Commission wishes to make it clear that the allegation made by Mr Adjei is false,” a statement signed by Christian Owusu-Parry, acting Director of Public Affairs at the EC said. It said Mr. Adjei obtained one vote at the Adiebeba MIA JHS, station number F 120114, where he actually voted.

Mr Adjei recently alleged that he scored zero at the station he and his family voted, an allegation which put the credibility of the election result in doubt. The RPD ranked seventh in the election with 6,889 votes representing 0.08 per cent.
