The Chief Executive Officer of Events Street Africa, Ms Ama Twum, speaking at the inauguration called for the promotion of education, especially in the area of Science and Mathematics.

She said the inauguration of the Regional Club would be replicated in all the remaining regions of the country by the close of the year.

Ms Twum noted that the study of the two subjects form the foundation for technology and development, and it was important that more attention was given to their study to make them appealing to students.

A Science tutor of the Pope John SHS, Mr. Frederick Dwamena, advised Science and Mathematics students not to study the subjects to pass their examination but rather to understand them to unearth their benefits for development.

He said some students avoid Science and Mathematics because of the perception that they are difficult subjects, and expressed the hope that with the formation of the club, the myth surrounding the study of Science and Mathematics would be broken.**
