Eastern Region Minister appeals for peace

The Eastern Regional Minister, Ms Patience Adow on Tuesday called on supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to stop harassing members of other political parties while they celebrate the outcome of last week’s elections.

She said the constitution guarantees freedom of association and win or lose Ghanaians have the right to belong to parties of their choice.

Ms Adow was speaking to Journalists at Koforidua in reaction to reports that some NPP supporters were harassing members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Effiduase and Asokore in the New Juaben North Constituency.

She appealed to party leaders in the region to advise their followers to conduct themselves responsibly so that Ghanaians would continue to enjoy peace and stability.
