Easter – Mampongteng

The Reverend Alexander Darko, the Immediate Past Asante Akim North and South District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church has called on all Ghanaians to be actively involved in this year’s general Elections scheduled for December 7.

He said this year’s elections should be dear to the hearts of all well- meaning Ghanaians because it was crucial for the way forward and for the economic, social and spiritual survival and development of the country.

Speaking to newsmen at the end of a four-day Easter Convention of the Church at Mamponteng in the Kwabre district on Sunday, Reverend Darko urged all religious groups to pray incessantly to safeguard the success of the election and a peaceful transition.

The District Convention organized by the Mamponteng Area of the Church was on the theme: “And I will pour out my Spirit upon all Fresh” was attended by over 3,000 members from Mamponteng and the surrounding communities including, Ankaase, Ntonso, Asonomaso, Dumanafo, Wadie-Adwumakaase, Bampenase, Hemang and Kasaam.

The District Pastor, who had been posted to Head the Mamponteng Area of the Church appealed to people who have reached voting age as well as all eligible voters to get involved in all the electoral programmes and systems to get their Voter’s Identity Cards ready so that they exercise their franchise on the Election Day.

Rev. Isaac Osei-Mensah, Pastor in-charge of Mount Carmel Assemblies of God, Ntonso and Chairman of the Convention indicated that people could go about their duties and worship God when there is peace. He therefore, called on the congregation to pray hard so that what the devil has planned for the nation concerning the elections would not materialized.

Rev. Osei-Mensah appealed to parents to educate their children in the Lord and also send them to school to enable them to grow to become useful citizens.
