East Ayawaso MP celebrates National Chocolate Day with Beggars

Major Dr. Mustafa Ahmed (rtd), Deputy Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, on Tuesday celebrated this year’s National Chocolate Day with beggars along the Nima –Mamobi Highway, sharing food and chocolate to them.

He said the Day symbolizes love, peace and unity, and called on the poor and needy in society to participate in the event.

Maj. Dr Ahmed, who is also Member of Parliament(MP) for Ayawaso East, said: “It is part of my duties as an MP, to make the poor and needy enjoy the occasion with compassion and love. As the beggars enjoy themselves they should be aware of their religious duties and cultural norms.”

He said despite social and economic challenges Ghana was experiencing, the people were going through positive times, and called for volunteerism and patriotism towards national development.

Maj. Dr Ahmed appealed to residents of the constituency, particularly the youth, to use the Day as a platform to promote peace for the development of the area.
