East Akim District Health Insurance Scheme raises 122 million cedis

Kyebi (E/R), Jan. 5, GNA – The East Akim District Health Insurance Scheme has raised over 122 million cedis as premiums from about 78,000 registered members since the scheme started seven months ago. Disclosing this to the Ghana News Agency at Kyebi, on Tuesday, the Scheme Manager, Mr Bright Habada, said 7,500 people had fully paid their premium of 72,000 cedis and a registration fee of 8,000 cedis. Mr Habada said the scheme would soon start the registration of employees in the formal sector and contributors to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust and their dependants.
