Early voting II: Names still missing

Some persons who are supposed to take part in the phase two of the special voting exercise organised on Sunday, 4 December have once again been prevented from voting because their names were not on the list.

Some security officers, media personnel and Electoral Commission officials were unable to vote on 1 December because their names were omitted from the list, thus, the extension of the voting period to today, Sunday, to give them the opportunity to exercise their franchise.

The Electoral Commission, after an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting with political parties agreed to the extension but reports from Class 91.3FM’s correspondent across the country indicate that some early voters are still unable to vote because they cannot find their name.

The exercise is organised for persons who will be busy supervising the main elections on 7 December.

The EC has, however, warned that persons whose names were supposed to be on the special voters list cannot vote on 7 December because their names will be on the absentee voter list.
