The Suhum Municipal Assembly, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Lydia Ohenewa Sarah, has extended a helping hand to the Suhum Akorabo Islamic School with a donation of 30 bags of cement and a quantity of iron sheets.
The donation, presented personally by Hon. Lydia Ohenewa Sarah, follows a request from the school authorities in the Municipality for materials to enhance the school’s security and improve its infrastructure.
In her address, speaking with Accra fm/CTV news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, the MCE encouraged the Headmaster to immediately utilize the donated materials to achieve the desired results, particularly in securing the school premises.
She specifically urged that the cement and iron sheets be used to raise the “falling walls” of the school to prevent “distractions from animals and intruders, noting that the current state of the building was becoming a “death trap” for the pupils.
Hon. Ohenewa Sarah reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment, stating it is their duty to support educational institutions and promised to do more for the school in the future.
Furthermore, the MCE took the opportunity to issue a passionate appeal to Suhum citizens residing outside Ghana, stakeholders, NGOs, and other organizations to “come to their aid” in solving the various problems facing the Suhum Municipality.
