E/R: Several critically injured in quarry explosion

Several people have been left critically injured with properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis destroyed following an explosion at an abandoned quarry site in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality in the Eastern region.

It is believed that the Company which used to operate the site left behind some explosives causing the deadly explosion Wednesday evening.

It is not known how the substances were triggered but the severity of the blast has also collapsed some buildings in the community.

It is unclear how many people have been injured in the blast but Mr. Marfo, a local reporter in the area said some of the injuries were life threatening.
