However, some of the victims who are in critical conditions have been admitted at the emergency ward and are likely to be referred to Koforidua government Hospital.

The pupils, mostly between the ages of 5 to 14 years suffered serious injuries in which some had their teeth broken.

The cause of the accident which occurred on Monday is yet to be established. The vehicle conveying the pupils was reported to have been overloaded.

According to some of the parents who trooped to the Kibi government Hospital to see their children for they have constantly complained over the vehicle the school uses to transport their children to school and the fact that it is too overloaded.

Information gathered by Ultimate News’ Eastern regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah indicates that, the school bus which used to transport the pupils from their homes developed fault some months ago and the school authorities hired an Urvan vehicle to convey the pupils to their homes.
