E.P. Church elects new Moderator

Ho, Aug. 25, GNA – The Reverend Francis Amenu, 56 years old of the Mamprobi branch of the E.P. Church has been elected the new Moderator of the General Assembly of the E.P. Church at its 67th Synod in Ho. Rev Amenu pooled 65 votes to Rev Dr Seth Senyo Agidi’s 52 votes and Rev Sena Dzandu-Hedidor’s 11 votes.

The Synod also, by 67 votes elected Rev. Godwin Kwaku Osiakwa as the new Synod of the General Assembly of the Church, ahead of Rev. Emmanuel Amey 31 votes and Rev M.K. Atakro 26 votes. Rev. Amenu and Rev Osiakwa thus succeed the now Very Rev. Dr. Livingstone Komla Buama and Rev. Frank Anku who have served the maximum eight years as Moderator and Synod Clerk respectively. Rev. Amenu said they were thankful to God for being elected as chief servants of the Church and promised to serve in humility and be the voices of the voiceless.

The Synod, held under the theme; “Called to Serve” closed on Sunday with a thanksgiving service and ordination of new Ministers of the Church.
