E.P Church disclaims Rev. Awudja as Minister-In-Charge of Winneba

Ho. Feb. 11, GNA- Right Reverend Dr Livingstone Buama, Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P.) Church, Ghana, on Tuesday disclaim a Reverend Joseph Alifo Awudja as a Minister of the Church in-charge of Winneba as published by a national weekly on January 31, this year. Addressing a press conference at Ho on Tuesday, Rt. Rev. Buama advised media practitioners to do investigations before publishing stories and not resort to whipping up emotions.

Rt. Rev. Buama said the substantive pastor of the Winneba Church is Reverend G.F.K. Amegbe who is in-charge of Agona-Swedru and exercises oversight responsibility over Winneba.

He said Rev. Awudja was one time with the E.P. Church but had since left.

The weekly published on its front page that Rev. Awudja of the E.P. Church, Ghana, had been arrested by the police for allegedly stealing a cheque book of a company and forged the signature of the managing director and withdrawn monies from the account.

Present at the Conference were Rev Frank Anku, Synod clerk, Mr P.M.K. Attakey. Presbyter Executive and Mr J.K. Anani Chief Accountant.
