Dzodze traders pack wares in fear

Dzodze (V/R), Dec. 7, GNA – Traders in Dzodze parked their wares hurriedly at about 1600 for fear of violence erupting during counting of votes at the end of voting at 1700 hours.

Dzodze is one of the 300 flashpoints in the Volta region. Shortly after the end of voting, the Police were deployed at the polling stations with tear gas canisters to forestall any rowdy developments.

Dzodze is one of the flashpoints in the Volta region. On the overall however, voting was generally smooth in the Ketu-North Constituency with the security situation remaining calm. The long queues seen in the morning reduced by mid-day with people trickling in to vote at polling stations until voting ended by 1700 hours.
