Dutchman Arrested With Indian Hemp

A 42-year-old Dutchman, Alberto Rennie Hill was on Monday arrested by security agents at the Kotoka International Airport when he attempted smuggling a quantity of dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp out of the country.

A source close to the security agents said the suspect, who was travelling with a Dutch passport was arrested when a physical examination revealed a false compartment filled with 41 pieces of the compressed dried leaves weighing 23.5 kilograms. Hill?s luggage had earlier passed through an X’Ray scanner, which could not detect the dried leaves.

The security agents are investigating.
