Dutch students assist orphanage

Nkoranza (B/A), Sep. 13, GNA – Let Kids Smile, a students’ volunteer organization in Holland has contributed funds to build an orphanage estimated valued at GH=A240,000 (400 million cedis) at Nkoranza in Brong-Ahafo.

The 16-bedroom orphanage also has four dormitories, storerooms, a playing ground, as well as a borehole for the inmates. Miss Ellen Seldenthuis, a Dutch resident in Ghana, who initiated the project, is currently managing the home with her Ghanaian husband, Mr. Christian Ankomah-Gyan. Mr. Ankomah-Gyan who conducted the Ghana News Agency round the facility said it currently had 11 orphans and that they had all been registered under the mutual health insurance scheme. He expressed gratitude to the Dutch students for providing money for the project.

He also paid tribute to some organizations at Nkoranza, which he said, had been offering food and clothing to the orphans.
