Duncan Williams tells Govt? to put nation first

The archbishop of the Christian Action Faith Ministries International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams has called on leaders of the country to govern in righteousness and put the interest of the nation and the people above every other consideration.

According to him, a leadership that is righteous before God must be one that has feelings for the people and is concerned about the growth and development of the country.

Archbishop Duncan Williams made the call in a message to commemorate Ghana?s 49th Independence anniversary.

? As long as Ghanaians continue to place personal and political interests above national consideration, the country will continue to be divided along political lines,? he said.

He said such attitude does not auger well for the country?s political development since ? we can only stand as a nation when we are united and not divided?.

Archbishop Duncan was happy about the country?s political development over the past few years and commended Ghanaians for their determination to protect and defend the country?s young democracy.

He also advised government to be open-minded and accept constructive criticism from its political opponents for the good of the people and national development.

The Christian Action Faith Ministries archbishop also commended the Minority for their contribution to the development of the country and advised them to be circumspect in their criticisms and endeavour to always put the national interest first.

Archbishop Duncan ?Williams prayed for God?s wisdom, guidance and protection for the country?s political leaders to enable them lead the nation to the promised land of peace and abundance as Ghana enters its Golden Jubilee year.
