Duker calls for peace in Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality

Simpa (WR), Nov. 12, GNA – Mr George Mireku Duker, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive, has called for peace and unity among the people. He said there should be respect for each other because election was to express opinion and should be conducted devoid of violence. Mr Duker made the call during a tour of some communities in the municipality. Communities visited included Nkran, Esaman, Kedadwen, Teberebe and Nsuaem.

He pointed out that Election 2008, should not be used as a platform to settle personal issues adding “after the election, we would still remain a united people as Wassa and Ghanaians.” Mr Duker said Ghanaians had the collective responsibility to defend the prevailing peace and sustain it for the next generation. He appealed to the people to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to access affordable and quality health care delivery.

Mr Duker urged the people to retain the NPP in power to continue its development programmes in the municipality. The people complained about deplorable roads, rehabilitation of educational facilities and extension of electricity and school feeding programme to them. 12 Nov. 08
