Duffuor, others must be pursued over GNPC ship sale – Akomea

A former Minister of Information under the Kufuor administration, Nana Akomea, has urged the Judgment Debt Commission to drag before it the former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr Kwabena Duffour and all former state officials who were involved in the sale of the GNPC drill ship.

According to him, that is the only way the mystery surrounding who has the appropriate documentation regarding the sale can be discovered.

The custody of documentation regarding the sale of the ship has become topical as the company (Societe General) who is supposed to have received the proceeds of the sale as settlement for judgment debt owed them by Ghana claims to have no records of payment.

The Chief Executive Officer of the French Bank Societe General on Tuesday told the Judgment Debt Commission that the bank has no records of the payment by the energy ministry.

But speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme Wednesday, Nana Akomea said all former and present state officials who have been mentioned in connections with the sale must be dragged before the commission for proper enquiry into the sale of the drill ship.
