Drug addicts, prostitutes take over La Wireless Cluster schools

Accra, Nov. 09, GNA – Nii Adjei Marley, Chairman of Parent/Teacher Association of La Wireless Cluster of schools has appealed to stakeholders to come to their aid to deal with the invasion of the schools by drug-peddlers and prostitutes who are doing brisk business in the area. He was speaking to the GNA after observing some of the damages they

have done to the school properties as a result of their activities. Nii Marley pointed out that these drug pushers mostly in their teens begin business immediately school closes by jumping over the wall to start their trades. He said, in his attempt to talk them out of their immoral activities as well educate them on the dangers they posed to their health, they faced the risk of being attacked by irate residents in the area.

They further visited their anger on the teachers for being the source of the information of the activities, he added. Nii Marley therefore, reiterated his call to get rid of these undesirable elements, sooner than later because the drugs left over in the classrooms posed a danger to the children. The fear is that the children may pick the left-over pieces and may

try them which would affect their health in future, he stressed. Nii Marley said another area of his concern is the classrooms being

Take-over by prostitutes as the littered the compound with used condoms and other materials. He however, commended Mr. Ashetey Armah, Assemblyman for Adobetor electoral area and the La District police for their efforts in arresting

the situation but their efforts were not enough to halt the well established machinery of the miscreants.
