Drug Abuse On The Increase Among Educational Institutions

The Narcotic Control Board says drug abuse among educational institutionals in the country is on the increase. The Education officer of the board, Kwasi Amankwaa who disclosed this, also said that students have a strong but wrong notion that drugs can help them study.

Mr Amankwaa was speaking at the launching of a non-governmental organisation ?Narconon?.

He appealed to NGO?s to help the board to treat and rehabilitate drug addicts. Mr Amankwaa said the board needs the assistance of NGO?s to rehabilitate drug addicts and integrate them into the society.

The Executive Secretary of Narconon Ghana, Joe Appiah said the NGO would help educate both the public and students about the dangers of drugs.
