Klo-Agogo (E/R), Sept. 26, GNA – A Driving and Vocational Training Institute established by the congregation of the Klo-Agogo St. Nicholas Anglican Church was inaugurated at Klo-Agogo in the Yilo Krobo District on Sunday.
The institute would provide training to the youth in driving, tie-and-dye, batik, screen-printing, dressmaking and catering. Reverend Father Richard Barnor, Parish Priest of St. Nicholas Anglican Church, said the institute would help provide skills for the youth and reduce unemployment in the area.
He said due to the high unemployment rate in the area, most of the youth were forced to migrate to other parts of the country in search of work but because they lacked employable skills, they could not be employed and were therefore, forced to live in the slums of urban towns. Right Reverend Francis Benjamin Quashie, Anglican Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese, in a sermon said it was the love of God that brought nations and society together.
He called on the people of Klo-Agogo to support the institute to grow to achieve its objective because it was a national asset that would produce graduates who would work throughout the country to contribute their quota towards the country’s socio-economic development.
