DRIVERS URGED TO STOP OVER-SPEEDING

The District Chief Executive for Aowin-Suaman, Mr. Solomon Appiah, has urged drivers to avoid over-speeding, unnecessary overtaking and overloading which are some of the causes of accidents. He made the appeal at a ceremony at which new uniforms for the Taxi Drivers Union at Enchi were introduced. He commended the members for their contribution to the area’s development and assured them of the District Assembly’s assistance in their operations. The Branch Chairman, Mr.. J.K. Mensah, appealed to the Assembly to assist the Union in developing a site allocated for a new lorry park. In Accra, the Greater Accra Co-operative Transport Union has again said there is no rivalry between the Union and the GPRTU. A statement signed by its President, Mr.. G.N. Darko, condemned publications by some private papers suggesting that there is a rivalry between the two organisations. End
