Drivers’ union presents gifts to children’s home

Biadan (B/A, Jan 8, GNA – Members of Berekum District Branch of Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA) have presented one million cedis and items worth about one million cedis to the Children’s Orphanage at Biadan, near Berekum.

The items were two bags of rice, a bag of sugar, two cartons of key bar soap, two boxes of biscuits, a carton of milk and three crates of soft drinks.

Mr. Dominic Amankona Diawuo, Chairman of the Association, said it had been their vision to support the management of the home. Mr. Diawuo said the association would also support development programmes in the district to enhance the living standards of the people.

Mr. Kwabena Kyere-Yeboah, the District Chief Executive, expressed gratitude to the association for its show of love for the children. Madam Rosemary York, in-charge of the Home, expressed gratitude to the association.

Nana Adu Gyamfi Kumanin, Chief of Biadan, appealed to the police to deal drastically with persons who would defile any of the girls at the Home.
