Drivers mate jailed for stealing

Sekondi, June 29, GNA – A District Magistrate Court at Sekondi on Tuesday, sentenced Nana Yaw Addo, a 19-year-old driver’s mate to 22 months imprisonment in hard labour for unlawful entry and stealing. The accused pleaded guilty.

Police Sergeant Philip Obeng said on the night of June 19 this year, the accused broke into the room of Adjei Bedu, a businessman at Apowa and made away with a wall clock and a small size radio/cassette player. He said on that same night, the accused also broke into the drinking bar of James Maxwell Awortwe and stole assorted drinks, a small radio and an amount of 20,000 cedis.
