Long journey drivers at Kaneshie in Greater Accra on Thursday complained about the slow pace at which people are patronizing their businesses as the Christmas holidays approach.
The drivers however expressed hope of business booming from December 23- December 24 as most people would travel for the holidays.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Albert Acheampong, Station Master for Tarkwa, Takoradi, Twifo Praso, Takoradi, Cape Coast and Bogoso at Kaneshie Lorry Station, noted that there are a lot of vehicles to take care of travelers.
He said the drivers have been given a lot of education on road safety to ensure that accidents are not recorded during the Christmas.
He appealed to passengers not to keep mute when drivers over speed, but rather draw their attention to it.
In a related development, some traders at Kaneshie Market Complex complained about the slow pace of sales.
Madam Lilly Narh, a rice seller expressed optimism of good business on December 24.
Madam Mary Boadi, who deals in children’s clothes, also expressed concern about the slow pace of business due to high prices of goods.
