Driver remanded in custody over death of 10 passengers

Asamankese (E/R), Jan 21, GNA- Eugene Graham, a driver whose vehicle was involved in an accident that claimed 10 lives, has appeared before the Asamankese Circuit court.

Graham’s plea was not taken and was remanded in custody until January 28.

Nine people died on the spot in the accident at Asikasu on December 23 and the 10th person died at the Asamankese Government Hospital. Police Chief Inspector Alhassan Amadu told the court that on that day Graham was speeding and the passengers appealed to him to slow down but he refused.

At Asikasu his bus grazed the side of a truck and both vehicles went off the road and ran into some nearby houses. 21 Jan 04
