Driver Remanded for Causing Harm

Kumasi, September 16, GNA – A Kumasi Circuit Court has ordered a driver to be held in prison custody for causing bodily harm. Abdallah Sumaila’s plea was not taken and would re-appear on October 5, 2009.

Police Chief Inspector Mary Nana Adwoa Affanyi told the Court presided over by Mr. Adjei Frimpong that Sumaila and Issaka Musah are friends resident in Kumasi.

On September 6, this year, there was a misunderstanding between the two and this resulted in fight, during which, Sumaila pulled a knife and stabbed Issaka on the shoulder.

He said, the victim was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and has been on admission ever-since. A report was made to the police and Sumaila was arrested. Police Chief Inspector Affanyi said the accused admitted the offence in his caution statement.
