Driver on 15 million cedis bail for careless driving

Cape Coast, Aug. 12, GNA – Nab-Ebenezer Indome, a 44-year-old driver was on Friday granted 15 million cedis bail with a surety to be justified by a circuit court in Cape Coast for alleged careless driving and negligently causing harm to two other drivers.

He pleaded not guilty and would reappear on August 24. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Oheneba Amoako-Boateng told the court presided over by Mr Mustapha Logoh, that on April 18 last year, at about 1750hrs, Indome was driving a Ford salon car from Baakano in Cape Coast towards Elmina, and on reaching the junction leading to the Archbishop’s house, on the Ola-Cape Coast road lost control of the vehicle.

He said in the process, he ran into two taxicabs, which were being driven, by Messrs Kofi Tetteh and Yussif Gilbradu, who sustained injuries and were rushed to the Cape Coast District Hospital.

He said the matter was later reported to the police. In another development, Robert Ekow Haizel, a student was granted 10 million cedis bail with surety to be justified by the same court for knocking down a 70-year old woman with his bicycle on July 21, last year.

He pleaded not guilty to careless riding and negligently causing harm and would reappear on August 29.

The prosecution said Haizel was riding his bicycle from Abura in cape Coast, towards Kotokuraba at about 2230 hrs, and that on reaching Pedu junction, he knocked down the old lady, who was crossing the road.
