Driver jailed 10 years for sodomy

Musah Issah, alias Baaba, a driver, who allegedly sodomised a 12-year-old boy at the Circle Cargo Station was on Friday sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour.

Issah was convicted on his own plea.

The prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sarah Acquah said the complainant was a Police Officer and father of the victim.

She said the complainant had a phone call from his wife informing him (complainant) that their son who left home about two weeks ago had been seen at the Circle Cargo station with the accused.

The prosecutor said his wife told the complainant that their son had been sodomised, therefore, the complainant rushed to the station.

ASP Acquah said the accused was arrested and taken to the Neoplan Police Station and the case was later transferred to Kaneshie Divisional Police of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU).

She said the victim was medically examined and the accused in his statement admitted sodomising the victim but only once.
