Driver fined two million cedis for careless driving

Ejisu (Ash), Aug 14, GNA- Frank Kyei, a 27-year-old driver has been fined two million cedis by the Ejisu District court for careless driving, injuring three passengers.

He pleaded guilty and will serve 24 months in prison in default. Kyei will also pay hospital bills of the victims.

Police Inspector A.A. Bannie told the court that on August 5 three passengers, Nana Kwadwo Boadi, Rebecca Nsiah and Kofi Asuo boarded the accused person’s vehicle from New Bomfa to Bonwire.

On the way the passengers complained that the driver was over-speeding and pleaded with him to slow down but he ignored them. Inspector Bannie said Kyei crashed into a wall at Asotwe injuring the three passengers. Two were treated and discharged and the other one is on admission.
