Driver fined 1.5 million cedis for stealing

Tema, Aug. 19, GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘A’, has imposed a fine of 1.5 million cedis on a Driver, who stole five pieces of car flashers valued at 100,000 cedis at the Tema Port. Abdulai Seidu pleaded guilty and will go to jail for two years in default.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector, Mary Assunta, told the Court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu, that at 2040 hours on July 26, 2004, the accused was spotted stealing the flashers from cars on transit to Burkina Faso and was arrested by the security personnel on duty.

The accused was sent to the Railways and Harbour Police Station where he admitted the offence. 19 Aug. 04
