Driver dies in motor accident

Akim Achiase, (E/R), May 17, GNA – A taxi driver, Kwame Asare, 35, died soon on admission at the Breman Asikuma Catholic Hospital when his vehicle collided with a cargo truck between Duakon and Amanfopon near Akim Achiase, on last Tuesday.

Six other passengers in the taxi and the driver of the cargo truck, identified only as Awal are on admission at the hospital. The Breman Asikuma Police stated that the taxi, which was over loaded with bags of palm kernel and six other passengers including a one year and two months old baby girl was travelling from Akim Duakon through Amanfopon to Akim Achiase when the accident happened. A convoy of about 20 vehicles including taxis last Friday travelled from Akim Achiase to convey the body of Asare for burial. 17 May 05
