Driver convicted for using expired certificate

Koforidua, Oct 12, GNA – Kofi Opoku, a driver, was on Wednesday convicted to a fine of GH 300.00 or in default serve a jail term of three months in hard labour by a Koforidua Circuit Court for use of motor vehicle with expired road worthiness certificate. Opoku pleaded guilty. Police Chief Inspector Michelle Mantey, prosecuting, told the court that on October 07 Police personnel from the Eastern Regional Command of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit went on a motto check at Apedwa on the Accra-Kumasi highway. They a bus driven by the convict and a check revealed that its road worthiness had expired.
