Driver assaults neighbour

Claudious Totor, a Teshie-based driver, who allegedly assaulted his neighbour, has been arraigned before an Accra Magistrate’s Court.
Totor pleaded not guilty to assault when he appeared before the court, presided over by James Kojo Botah.

He was granted bail in the sum of GH¢1,000 with two sureties to be justified.

Presenting the facts to the court, Chief Inspector Victor Dosoo said Totor and the complainant were neighbours and residents of Teshie.

He said on April 27, 2016, the complainant was vacating his residence where he shared a wall with Totor.

C/Inspector Dosoo said the complainant decided to remove his DSTV dish so that he would transfer it to his new residence.

He said in the course of removing the dish, the workers found a black cable attached to the DSTV which had been extended to Totor’s residence.

The complainant then instructed the workers to remove the cable and put it in his car .

C/Inspector Dosoo said just then Totor appeared on the scene and instructed the complainant to give him the cable.

When the complainant refused to hand over the cable to him, Totor allegedly beat the complainant up and destroyed his suit and white shirt.

The case was reported to the Teshie Police Station and Totor was arrested.
