Dr Nduom attends Energy Ministers Conference in Algiers

Accra, Feb.11, GNA – Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, Minister of Energy, is leading a three-man delegation to the five-day African/Latin America Energy Ministers Conference in Algiers, Algeria.

A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday and signed by Ms Florence Boakye, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, said the Conference followed the recommendations of an earlier conference of African Ministers of Energy of African Union (AU) member states held in Algiers in April 2001 and AU Heads of Government meeting held in Lusaka, Zambia in July 2001.

The statement said the Conference would examine the Algerian Draft Declaration which aimed at developing human resource and capacity building, exchange of experiences, promoting energy information systems and investments and partnerships in the energy sector.

Other topics include mobilisation of financial resources to develop energy projects and how to harness energy on the continent.
