DR. LIMANN BURIED

Burial of the late President, Dr. Hilla Limann, took place in private in his tome town, Gwollu in the Sisala District of the Upper West Region at dawn on Sunday, March 1. The burial was followed immediately by the final funeral rites by the bereaved family. Thousands of people from all parts of the country including delegations from the government, Parliament, political parties and traditional Council were at the ceremony. The government delegation was led by the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu. Members of the delegation included Ministers of state and the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Peter Nanfuri. The delegation of the People’s National Convention was led by the Party’s flagbearer in the 1996 elections, Dr. Edward Mahama. Donations of cash, drinks and food items were made to the bereaved family by the various delegations, some organisations and individuals. The Two-day rites will end today. gri
