Alavanyo, Feb. 10, GNA – Dr and Mrs Emmanuel Fiakpui, a medical practitioner and citizens of Alavanyo, based in Chicago in the United States, on Thursday donated a lawn mower valued at 12 million cedis to the Evangelical Presbyterian Trades Training Centre (EPTTC) at Alavanyo in the Hohoe District.
The donation was in response to an appeal by the school recently. Dr Fiakpui was hopeful that the mower would greatly facilitate the maintenance of clean environment at the Centre.
He commended the school authorities for providing technical and vocational skills as part of the curricula. “This is what transforms nations,” he said.
Mr Newton Atengbley, Manager of the Centre, thanked the couple and appealed to the government to include institutions under the National Vocational Institute (NVTI) in the beneficiary list of the GETfund.
