Dr Apraku’s summons is unnecessary – Kweku Baako

A publication in Wednesday 18th December edition of the Daily Guide newspaper indicated that Dr. Konadu Apraku had been summoned to the headquarters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the publication, a source at the Party’s headquarters disclosed that the 2008 campaign manager of Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo had been summoned to answer questions on his recent comments which have generated hullabaloo within the NPP.

However, Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper sees the summons as needless.

“If it is true that he has been summoned, I think that it is unnecessary; if the basis of his summons is as a result of what he said; then I think it is totally unnecessary – unless there is something else,” he intimated.

Meanwhile, he has described Dr Apraku’s earlier announcement to contest for the flagbearership of the party as ‘premature ejaculation’ because it was not yet time for the party’s congress “but if he has decided to campaign ahead of time, allow him…you don’t cure that matter with a summons at this stage. I think it should be ignored.”

In a related development, Director of Communications for the NPP has debunked claims that Dr Apraku was invited to the headquarters to scare off other people who might be interested in vying for the position of a flagbearer.

According to him, “it is an informal invitation to meet the elders and deliberate on issues that he has raised, the repercussions of such issues and a discussion on the way forward on dealing with such issues internally”.
