Dormaa trains registration officials

Nkrankwanta (B/A), May 5, GNA – The Dormaa District Office of the Electoral Commission has organised a one-day training programme to adequately prepare 144 registration officers and photographers drawn from Dormaa East and West constituencies towards the re-opening of the Voters Register.

Topics treated included modalities of registering new voters and how as officials, they should conduct themselves during the exercise. Mr. Seth Anane Amankwaah, Dormaa District Electoral Officer enjoined participants at all three centres to operate within the confines of the

exercise and avoid acts that were likely to jeopardize the successful conduct of their duties. He reminded them to be conscious of groups and individuals who might want to use the registration exercise for partisan interests, adding that in all cases, the national interest should reign supreme. He said free, fair and successful elections anywhere in the world depends largely on a clean and problem-free voters register. 05 May 06
