Dormaa Queenmothers Association donates to Hospital

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) Jan. 13 GNA – The Dormaa Queenmothers Association has presented 30 sets of bed-sheets to the Maternity Ward of the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital at Dormaa-Ahenkro. The presentation was part of the association’s assistance to the ward which it had adopted and to support nursing mothers and their newly born babies. Nana Adoma Kyerekoaa, Adontenhemaa of Dormaa Traditional Area whom presented the package described it as the association’s widow’s mite to support the ward.

She urged expectant and nursing mothers to take advantage of the hospital’s ante-natal and post-natal services to enhance their safe delivery and to eliminate cases of stillbirth and maternal mortality. The Adontenhemaa assured the maternity ward of the association’s commitment to contribute to the welfare of patients both spiritually and materially. Madam Rose Nyameadom, Hospital Matron, thanked the donors and appealed to well-meaning individuals and agencies to support the maternity and other wards in the hospital. She explained that though the government and the Presbyterian Church were doing their best to satisfy the needs of the hospital there was still the need for corporate groups to complement such efforts.
