Dormaa Police record 53 motor accidents

Nkoranza (B/A), Jan. 18, GNA – The Police in Nkoranza District has recorded 53 lorry accidents involving 67 vehicles that resulted in lost of 14 lives. They also handled 535 assault cases, 258 theft cases and 111 cases of threat of death last year.

Superintendent D.O. Lomotey, District Police Commander, who said this in an interview with GNA at Nkoranza, appealed to drivers to obey traffic rules, avoid over speeding, over loading, unnecessary over taking and the intake of alcohol and drugs. He asked passengers to report the misconduct of drivers to the Police and advised bicycle riders to wear crash helmets. Supt. Lomotey advised transport owners to regularly maintain their vehicles and cautioned pedestrians to be careful when crossing the road to avoid been knocked down by vehicle. He appealed to the people to volunteer information on suspected criminals to the police. 18 Jan. 10
