Dormaa-Ahenkro, Jan 09, GNA – Squadron Leader Benjamin Anane-Asamoah (RTD), the Dormaa District Chief Executive, has said 2006 would be very crucial to the government because Ghanaians would experience improvement in their living conditions. “The nation’s macro-economic indicators have proved that the nation is on course and what is left is for the average Ghanaian to feel the gains in his or her pocket”, he said. Sqr-Ldr Anane-Asamoah was addressing an end-of-year get-together organised by the district assembly for its staff at Dormaa-Ahenkro. He said it was pertinent for the assembly to complement the government’s efforts by generating enough internal revenue through pragmatic revenue mobilization processes.
”The district assembly has dedicated 2006 to a high sense of diligence among staff and open-door implementation of government policies acceptable to the people.” Sqr-Ldr Anane-Asamoah said he would not tolerate negative acts by groups or individuals in the assembly’s bid to attain positive results. He urged the assembly’s staff to be punctual, honest and to exhibit the traditional Ghanaian hospitality to attract investors and visitors to the area.
Sqr-Ldr Anane-Asamoah expressed the hope that the first three months of the year would see drastic change in the staff’s approach to work that reflect in the assembly’s performance. The staff lauded his open-door approach to duty and expressed optimism that his style of administration would help the assembly to perform better. They appealed to the assembly to support the budgets of decentralized departments to enable them to contribute efficiently to development.
