Dormaa citizen donates computers

Aboabo (B/A) Oct. 25,GNA – Mr. Joseph Kofi Amponsah Manso, proprietor, Today Nehemiah Souls, a United States based non-governmental organisation, has donated computers, teaching and learning materials, worth GHC 10,250.00 to Salvation Army Senior High and basic schools at Aboabo, near Dormaa-Ahenkro.

Presenting the 10 computers and accessories to the senior high school, Mr. Manso said his NGO was dedicated to helping needy individuals and institutions to become self-sustaining and less dependent on others for survival. He said his target was to make more students of the school access the new world information communication order where information and communication Technology (ICT) has assumed prominence in all spheres of human endeavour.

Mr. Manso urged students and literate adults in the area to seek computer-based knowledge so that they could fit appropriately in the global village.

The headmaster of Salvation Army Senior High School, Mr. Krobea Asante Korang, commended the donor for the gesture and assured him the computers would be utilized appropriately. He noted that the number of the school’s computers were woefully inadequate for the increasing number of students in the school. The school has a continuing student population of 721 and is expecting 293 first year students for the 2010/2011 academic year, the headmaster said. Mr. Manso later donated a package of teaching and learning materials to basic schools at Aboabo Number Two. 25 Oct. 10
