The Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, in collaboration with the social welfare department and the Member of Parliament, Hon. John Kwame Adu Jack, has distributed various devices and monetary donations to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) to assist them in their daily lives.
The donations include refrigerators, pounding machines, wheelchairs, plastic chairs, among other items, as well as cash contributions.
During the donation event, the Dormaa Central Member of Parliament, Honorable John Kwame Adu Jack, highlighted that some disabilities are not inherent, as individuals may become disabled due to accidents and other unfortunate circumstances. He emphasized the government’s full support for individuals with disabilities to ensure they lead dignified lives.
He urged the recipients to refrain from selling the devices they received and to utilize them effectively to ensure they provide benefits and alleviate their challenges.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, conveyed in his address that the beneficiaries consist of 34 males, 37 females, and 4 members from the organizational support group for persons with disabilities, totaling 75 individuals. The total amount allocated is Gh¢232,536.16. He subsequently urged all beneficiary persons with disabilities to consistently pray for the financial stability of the NDC government to ensure consistent support for them.
Several beneficiaries conveyed their gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive, the Member of Parliament, and other pertinent stakeholders for their support. They pledged to utilize the devices they received effectively to enhance their lives.
