Dormaa Central MCE visits local churches to advocate for improved sanitation and hygienic environment.

The Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, has embarked on a series of visits to local churches in Dormaa Ahenkro to enhance education and raise awareness regarding personal hygiene and measures to combat illicit drug abuse and addiction among the youth.

Yesterday, Sunday, June 22, 2025, he visited four churches in Dormaa Ahenkro township, including the Christian Praise International Church (CPIC), Church of Pentecost (Koraso Central), Baptist Church, and Deeper Life Bible Church.

During his visitations, the Municipal Chief Executive underscored his commitment to advancing President Mahama’s agenda to combat pollution and maintain a clean environment, ensuring safe and hygienic conditions to prevent infections caused by filth.

He appealed to all church members and residents of Dormaa Ahenkro to support the Dormaahene Clean-up Campaign to realize President Mahama’s vision for a hygienic environment in and around Dormaa Ahenkro. He urged everyone to dispose of sachets and other plastic waste in strategically placed dustbins throughout Dormaa and ensure that other waste is properly managed. Additionally, he emphasized that bushy compounds must be routinely cleared to prevent malaria caused by mosquito bites.

Honorable Dominic Adoma Ameyaw remarked that the President has mandated all MMDCEs to establish task forces to enforce sanitation bylaws within their respective Assemblies. He stated that these task forces, in conjunction with environmental officers at the Assemblies, will ensure that individuals who violate the sanitation bylaws are prosecuted and penalized as a deterrent to others hence his awareness creation prior to the commencement of the task forces’ activities.

Pastor Ebenezer Shamo Abbey, the District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost, Koraso Central, expressed his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his dedication to promoting sanitation and a hygienic environment in the country.

He emphasized that Jesus Christ abhors filth, and thus, President Mahama’s sanitation agenda is warmly embraced by the Church of Pentecost. The church is committed to doing all it can to maintain a clean environment. He mentioned that the Church of Pentecost already conducts environmental care campaigns annually, and they will channel the same vigor to support the President, the Municipal Chief Executive, and the chiefs in continuing to keep Dormaa Ahenkro and its neighboring communities clean.
